Dr. Key has had the pleasure of presenting to and providing direct service diverse populations nationally and internationally. She has been able to share her knowledge and experience with pallative care families, teen moms, parents of teen moms, human service practitioners, scholars, faculty and college students.
Dr. Key sits on the board of Storng Willed Survivors and non-profit dedicted to cancer patients and suvivors. She is formally the membership chair of the National Organization for Human Services. She serves on the Human Services Advisory Board for the City of Chesapeake and the Coalition of Black Faculty. She is a parent trainer for the State of Virginia Supreme Court. Dr. Key is a self study reviewer and collaborator for the Council for Standards in Human Service Education (CSHSE). She is also a member of Virginia State Parent Education Coalition. Beyond her service to the field and community, she has accompanied students to Ireland, Costa Rica Germany and Jamaica. She has also developed service projects that benefit the people and community within these countries. She has now partnered with a local shelter to empower women and bring awareness to homelessness.
